Cary Ann Hearst's "Hells Bells" featured in True Blood

Charleston-based songwriter Cary Ann Hearst enjoyed some national exposure this weekend when HBO's award-winning vampy television drama series True Blood used her song "Hells Bells" in the closing credits on Sun. July 25. It was the sixth episode of the series' third season (the "I Got a Right to Sing the Blues" episode).

Hearst's "Hells Bells" is a new song from the musician — one of several country-flavored originals released on her most recent solo album, Are You Ready to Die (Shrimp). She recorded it last year in L.A. with engineers Butch Walker and Jake Sinclair. It's not an AC/DC cover, by the way.

Hearst and husband/bandmate Michael Trent were in L.A. over the weekend, gigging at the Hotel Cafe. Their next show in town is at the Tin Roof on Thurs. July 29. See myspace.com/caryannhearst for more.
