Hanahan is not known for its dining scene, but that may be changing with this new pizza joint. Carolina Crust serves up a variety of pies, from the pesto chicken and wheat pizza (whole wheat crust, pesto sauce, seasoned chicken, goat cheese, seasoned spinach, and mozzarella) to the It's a Grinder Pie (red sauce topped with spicy Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onion, roasted garlic, and provolone). The Carolina Margherita is not overloaded with sauce and features a refreshing kick of basil while the Southern Smokehouse Pizza (red sauce, pepperoni, ham, Italian sausage, bacon, and mozzarella) is low on the grease-o-meter but still oh-so-tasty. —Chris Haire, Dish (Winter 2010)
