Think of the Carolina Green Fair as a Farmers’ Market on steroids — healthy, eco-friendly steroids, that is. In addition to fresh, local foods, the Green Fair offers attendees the opportunity to learn about topics like green building, water and energy conservation, recycling and waste management, nature and wildlife preservation, and agriculture. This year the fair is extending into two days, with the first day focused on wellness and healthy foods and the second day being a little more fun-loving. Guests can indulge in the ever-popular eco-carnival, an eco-fashion show, and a clothing swap, among other attractions. New Belgium, Firefly Vodka, Boto Box Wine, and several food trucks sponsor the two-day event, and food samplings will be available on-site. Stick around after the sun goes down on Saturday for a special concert by The Pimps of Joytime, Ben Fagan, and The Holy City Hooligans. Admission to the fair is free on Saturday and $5 for adults, $1 for kids on Sunday. Saturday night’s concert is $15 in advance and $20 at the gate.
