Not your kid's recital. The Charleston Acting Studio's Musical Theatre Performance Troupe will present Broadway standards, but unlike a regular school play, these kids can actually sing and act.
Inspire your rugrats. There's nothing more inspiring to a little kid than seeing another little kid get up on stage and bravely sing in front of a darkened room full of strangers. It could spur a lifelong love of the arts.
It's a hard-knock life. From Annie to Oliver, there are plenty of family-friendly showtunes out there. But we're not so sure about Little Shop of Horrors. Hopefully they'll skip "Dentist!" ("When I was younger, just a bad little kid/My mama noticed funny things I did/Like shootin' puppies with a BB gun/I'd poison guppies, and when I was done/I'd find a pussycat and bash in its head") and go for the opening theme song instead.
