Brian Regan

When: Sun., April 5 2009
Brian Regan proves that comedy doesn’t have to be dirty and riddled with f-bombs to be funny, and family-friendly doesn’t necessarily equal lame. Over the years, his act has taken him from the small stages of improv clubs to several Comedy Central specials (including last year’s The Epitome of Hyperbole) and spots on The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. He reaches a wide audience by making the most simple, mundane things seem absolutely hilarious: complete failure on school spelling bee competitions, being out of the loop in a conversation at a swanky party, and the dangerous invention of the ironing board. Finding something funny in life’s simple chores is something we should all start doing more often. Let’s start out with this stand-up show. —Reina Gascon-Lopez
