Blotter: The week in crime

Highlights from the City of Charleston's police reports

BLOTTER O' THE WEEK: A suspect arrested for drug possession told officers, "That's not my blunt, mine was bigger." We bet that's what he says to all the girls.

Two men were charged with having an open container of alcohol, but only one was charged with being drunk in public. One big difference: the accused drunk pleaded with officers not to pour out his malt liquor.

Items Stolen This Week: Five bikes, three iPods, and two GPS units

Text Threat O' The Week: "If you caused this to happen, you'll be the first to die."

An officer caught a couple having sex and sharing a little weed on a secluded West Ashley road. We're guessing the couple had a pretty good GPS system, but a really bad radar detector. After the officer asked him and his lady friend to get some clothes on, the young man said he was "sorry for his actions," which certainly sounded odd when not coming from a gray-haired politician behind a podium.

Found Item O' the Week: A Dumbo purse

The Blotter is taken from City of Charleston police department reports. We've added a cartoon and a little commentary. We've added a little humor, too. No one has been found guilty. This is not a court of law.
