Black History Month Celebration

Trident Technical College begins its Black History Month celebration with a full day of activities at the college's Main Campus. Students will speak on this year's theme, "The History of Black Economic Empowerment," at 10 a.m. in the College Center, followed by the TTC Gospel Choir at 10:35 a.m. Mattie Sanders will display and discuss her African-American Inventors exhibit from 11:05 to 11:55 a.m. In the Student Center, students and the community can enjoy soul food in the TTC Café. "A View from the Sea Islands," photographs from the Avery Institute, will be on display 2-4 p.m. Closing out the day, the college will present two documentaries, Two Dollars and a Dream: Madame C.J. Walker and I am Somebody: The Charleston Hospital Workers Strike, 3-7 p.m. in the College Center.
