The annual Black Expo is a touring series of events hosted by Black Pages USA. Stopping in Charleston starting Thurs., March 12, the event kicks off with a Business Opportunities Summit at the main branch of the Charleston County Library. But the fun really starts on Friday, with a morning golf tournament at Wescott Plantation. Later that night at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center, the Pre-Expo Comedy Gala features comedians J. Anthony Brown (pictured), Don D.C. Curry, Pierre, J.J., and Damon Williams. The main event starts Saturday morning, with seminars, a health and wellness fair, kid’s pavilion, a food court, and a gospel talent contest hosted by Mr. Brown from Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns. Entertainment includes poetry, dance, R&B, and jazz. CNN commentator Roland S. Martin is the keynote speaker, and actor Morris Chestnut is the celebrity guest.
