We’re big fans of Nick Smith at the City Paper. Not only is he our contributing arts editor — not to mention one of our best writers — but he has a devilish sensibility that we love. He’s written a novel about zombies (Undead on Arrival
) and directed an indie action flick (Cold Soldiers
, premiering this week at the Charleston Film Festival), but he also came up with one of the most singularly brilliant horror movie kills ever: Death by ceiling fan. This fact alone has us eagerly awaiting the release of the Smith-penned, Gus Smythe-directed Eight Graves
. It could be a bloody good time.
