Much like Mt. Pleasant’s Bacco, Graze is one of those East Cooper restaurants that’s every bit as good as downtown’s offerings. With a genre-jumping mix of plates — Asian, Mexican, American, Italian — Graze could easily be dismissed as a restaurant that doesn’t know what it is, but rest assured, chef-owner Michael Karkut and company know exactly who they are, and what they are is really damn good. They not only serve up a much-raved about mac ‘n’ cheese dish — the appropriately named Award-Winning Pulled Pork and Collard Green Mac N Cheese — they offer another one, a lobster mac ‘n’ cheese, that is every bit as good. This year, however, we got turned on to their Cinnamon Chili Dusted Sea Scallops. Seriously, cinnamon on seafood served with a sweet potato and brown butter pancake, sauteed tiny green beans, Granny Smith apple, onion, and pancetta compote?
