Arthur England uses everything and the kitchen sink to create his one-of-a-kind box guitars. Cigar boxes, Krispy Kreme boxes, Milk Bone boxes — it’s all fair game at the workshop of Buddah’s Box Guitars. When we visited England’s stall at the Ladson Flea Market last year, he showed us all the quirky bits and bobs that go into his handiwork, including dog dish bowls and dog bones — the treat not the actual pieces of skeleton. That’s right, he can take a regular dog treat and transform it into a bridge that vibrates the brass resonator. And that, my friends, is pretty doggone cool.
