Way out in the sticks, at least for people who dwell closer to the urban center of the Lowcountry, sits a beautiful hospital with plenty of parking and very few patients. Or at least that's how it seemed to us on a recent jaunt through two surgeries that took place there. The beautifully outfitted interior felt bereft of people as we sat in the surgical waiting room and watched the avatar of our loved one as it moved from pre-op to recovery to awake. When he was ready to go, we were the only people making our way through the darkened lobby to the empty parking lot. It was admittedly creepy for people accustomed to the hustle and bustle of a downtown hospital crammed full of sick and injured people clamoring for care. Creepy as in Walking Dead-28 Days-zombie-movie creepy. Of course, if we lived in Park West, we'd be pretty happy to have such a place all to ourselves. And if you build it, they will come, right?
