Sometimes a chain comes to town, in this case the locally-owned and operated Five Guys franchise, and the people go insane for it. And you’ve got to admit, the burgers and fries at Five Guys are damn good. It’s fast food, but it’s not so fast that it’s plastic. The menu is simple, and it keeps the focus on doing a couple of things really well. This past year, Five Guys made a foray into the crowded downtown food scene — with great success — and has plans to expand to Summerville soon. It’s a takeover we don’t hear many people complaining about.
