Redux killed it last year with creative art openings, like when they served adult sno-cones at Carson Fox's Ice Storm. But their kick-off for Cory Oberndorfer's Novelty exhibit went way beyond the standard issue wine and cheese, combining Oberndorfer's love of both sweets and roller girls. A roller-skate parade was led by the ladies of the Lowcountry HighRollers, who were joined by other skaters, skateboarders, cyclists, and a few pint-sized bad-asses on razor scooters. The group did two laps around St. Philip and King streets while spectators, both willing and accidental, watched from the street. Back at Redux, Sugar Bakeshop sold homemade popsicles, and there was candy everywhere, pacifying both the young and the young at heart. And that's not all. When the show wrapped up in July, the art center hosted a game night. Well played, Redux.
