We’ve got to admit, the semi-annual Holy City freak-out that happens when someone catches wind that Swedish retailer H&M could/might/will/is-right-now-OMG opening somewhere in Charleston is lost on us. Seriously, between Margaritaville and Louis Vuitton, what more does King Street need? Just to recap, here are some of the places that we’ve heard (in the last 15 minutes) H&M might be replacing: Williams-Sonoma, Biton, the old Millenium Music — plus a few others that would require us to kill off some King Street mainstays who are still hanging strong. Until then, you’ll have to get your metro-chic-meets-Ikea gear at H&M online, which is also rumored to be launching in the U.S. this summer. Maybe.
