The secret has slowly leaked out about this place, where chef Iran Coleman spoons up some of the best New Orleans gumbo in the city. He runs the front of the house and the back of the house. Sometimes he simply chats for awhile and then whips out an impromptu dish from the kitchen for you to try. But no matter what you order, it will be delicious and authentic. He’s the only chef in town who dons Mardi Gras beads during service, and if that’s what makes the fried catfish taste so damn good, then we’ll flash whatever we have to in order to get some more strands thrown his way.
