Robert Carter Leaves Peninsula Grill

Staff Pick

This was a maddening episode in Charleston's food world for anybody trying to get the dirt (read: this reporter). Nobody was dishing. Robert Carter released a statement talking about how awesome Peninsula Grill was and how he was just ready to move on. Peninsula Grill released a statement about how awesome it was going to work out and how they wished the best for Bob. And we were left to ponder what the real story was. In the end, it did work out just fine. The restaurant has a new executive chef in Graham Dailey, Carter has a new place in Mt. Pleasant called Carter's Kitchen, and we've all stayed friends. Perhaps that's the simple story after all.
