Poor Yorktown. It seems like every time the ship is in the news it's regarding another financial crisis. Commissioned in 1943, the carrier served in WWII, Vietnam, and recovered the Apollo 8 astronauts in 1968. Now she sits in our harbor like a giant time capsule documenting American naval power. The ship is an incredible teaching resource, memorial, and tourist destination. Sadly, she's also a money pit. SOS.
