Elizabeth Kandrac leaves the school board

We appreciate that former Charleston County School District Board of Trustees member Elizabeth Kandrac had fire in her belly. We really do. Because nobody likes milquetoasts and yes-men in the government. Unfortunately, Kandrac’s anger was broad-reaching and misdirected, and she frequently derailed school board meetings by nitpicking and discussing non-agenda items, wearing the school board out until they had little energy left to discuss the district’s very real performance problems. Kandrac decided not to run for re-election when her term expired last year. And we couldn’t be happier.
