Even though Charleston is known for its summer-like fall and fall-ish winters, there are still times when it's just too doggone cold to play outside, much less dip your toe in the Atlantic. What's a swim fan to do? Well, very soon — we hear the end of March — the City of North Charleston will open the doors to the North Area's one and only indoor pool. Construction crews first began rehabbing the old Danny Jones pool in Park Circle last year, but today, the pool has a roof over it and plenty of walls to keep out the elements. All that's left to do is take care of a few final touches, like pour some additional concrete. Once that's done, we'll all be able to get our swim fix year round.
