The pineapple fountain. The swing benches. The echoing squares. So many iconic Charleston things to see in just one park. Mayor Joseph P. Riley Jr. started making plans for the park as soon as he entered office in 1975, and while it doesn't bear his name like the new RiverDogs stadium, it's definitely one of the landmarks that will long outlive his administration.
