Above-the-Crosstown residents breathed a collective sigh of relief in November. After a years-long investigation, Charleston police had finally arrested a suspect who may or may not have been involved in the more than 80 fires set downtown. We’ve got to give mad props to the city’s Arson Task Force for nabbing 55-year-old construction worker Kenneth Boone, who, at the very least, has been charged with three arsons and one count of solicitation to commit arson at a Hollywood home. But, as the task force explained, the investigation is still ongoing, and they encourage people to continue coming forward with information. Still, even if Boone hasn’t yet been convicted by a jury of his peers, we’re sleeping a little easier at night.
