The newly opened Taco Mamacita (in the old Off the Hook spot on Middle Street) majors in Tex-Mex and Peruvian food with a minor in tequila and specialty margaritas. The eatery's drink menu has a full page of Mexican and domestic tequilas, from cheap and standard (like regular Jose Cuervo for $5) to the outrageously expensive (like the $65 shot of Herraduca Select). The tequilas are categorized as either Silver, Gold, Reposado, Premium, or Añejo. Regulars enjoy the cerveza (they have 11 Mexican beers on hand), sangria, mojitos, and Bloody Marys, but the margaritas are the big deal here. The Black Cadillac — made with the amber Jose Cuervo Black Medallion, Grand Marnier, lime, and a housemade sweet-and-sour mix — is especially smooth and tasty. The blueberry and pomegranate margaritas go very well with the smoky roasted tomato salsa.
