Since relocating up Coleman Boulevard to the old Alex's Restaurant spot last summer, Southern-style eatery Page's Okra Grill has drawn huge crowds of locals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. During their first few months in business, dinner service closed at the curiously early time of 8 p.m. (they've since extended it to 9 p.m.). If Alex's had a reputation as a late-night hangout for bar-goers, Page's Okra Grill has reversed it. Nicely refurbished and serving an extensive menu of Southern classics, Page's caters mostly to big families and throngs of gray-haired old folks in the neighborhood. During our first few visits, we spotted a former S.C. governor and his brood among the elderly diners scattered across the dining room. The food's better than at the previous location, too.
