This bittersweet, medicinal, red hooch from Hungary caught on as a sort of Jägermeister-lite when it arrived on local shelves last summer. In Europe, the distillery markets the stuff under the name Unicum. Cherry and cinnamon notes are strongest in the aroma, while the flavor tends to be more oaky and earthy. The green-glass, globe-shaped bottle is eye-catching, too.
