Property values keep rising in Wagener Terrace. In the nearby I'On-esque Longborough neighborhood, they're pretty out-of-reach for the average homebuyer. But this year a new option opened up for first-time buyers on the peninsula. Well, not really new. The Cottages at Longborough have been in the works for years, since the original low-income apartments were demolished and developers promised to new build affordable housing on the site. Last year, the 42 condos started to take shape, and back in October, people lined up at the Gaillard Auditorium to apply for the affordable homes. The sought-after properties are almost completed, and the approved buyers are hoping they'll be able to move in by the summer.
