Best Neverending Investigation

Trey Gowdy’s Select Committee on Benghazi

Staff Pick

It’s not every day a former American secretary of state and future president gets deposed by Congress. Well, last year former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sat before the House Select Committee on Benghazi for eight solid hours to further discuss the 2012 Benghazi attacks. With years of information about the attack already filed away, questions for the secretary mostly rehashed known info as Republicans sought to trip up Clinton. Having already peppered the State Department with requests and subpoenaed Clinton to testify on the Hill in front of TV cameras, South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy, who chaired the investigation, remained mostly diplomatic throughout the proceedings. —Sam Spence
