Chef Patrick Owens helped elevate the Mt. Pleasant fine-dining scene to a new level by opening Langdon's back in 2003, an elegant four-diamond AAA restaurant that fits the bill for the perfect romantic night out. Fast forward to early 2011 — Owens expands by opening a more casual restaurant, Opal, in Seaside Farms. The rustic, clean interior reminds us of Tuscany, and the modern American menu with Mediterranean influence is ever-changing and fresh. You'll find warm, housemade mozzarella, a large selection of artisan cheeses and charcuterie, and entrées such as local grouper with soft goat cheese polenta, spinach, and hazelnut-parsley pesto. Owens made a great move expanding, as Opal is just what Mt. Pleasant needed.
