The contrast between the Dolphin Deli and the Drop-In is striking. When the white-walled, brightly fluorescent-lit Folly Beach diner closed in 2008, it seemed unlikely that whatever replaced it would be any more of a pleasant place to hang out than its get-in, get-out predecessor. But the Drop-In is filled with regulars every day from the lunch rush until close. It helps that they serve cheap PBR draft and have killer $3.95 appetizer dips and soup selection (not to mention seasonal microbrews and a knock-down turkey club sandwich). Visit the Drop-In, and you might just find yourself making a day of it.
