Best Local Haiti Response

Water Missions International

Staff Pick

The local Christian nonprofit follows global bad luck wherever it goes. Clean drinking water is a frequent problem following most any natural disaster, and Water Missions provides unique water filtration systems that offer decades more clean water than one bottle ever could. First responding to a hurricane more than a decade ago, Water Missions has provided emergency aid to communities in more than 20 countries. But national attention eluded the group until the earthquake in Haiti brought the perfect storm of a desperate need for safe water and a logjam of resources. Water Missions already had staff on the ground in Haiti, helping to locate the best areas to provide their service. Another earthquake shook South America just weeks ago, and Water Missions is already working on it.
