We’re not sure how you measure the success of a local event, but with the plethora of activities springing up around Wine + Food last weekend, we know where the place to be was. The event itself is cool enough, but add in the lavish afterparties, where you can stumble over nationally-known chefs and writers, the copious amount of events now geared to everything from soul food to pinot noir, and a top-notch marketing effort that makes the thing a virtual sellout months in advance, and you almost forget the fact that it used to be called Charleston Food + Wine Festival until some pesky lawyers from some glossy magazine got in the way. We don’t care what they call it. After blowing it out this year, we won’t miss a single minute of the next one.
