Things got a little bit easier for local farmers this year thanks to GrowFood Carolina. The Coastal Conservation League project, headquartered right across from City Paper on Morrison Drive, aims to connect local farms to local markets. Businesses can buy produce from farms within a 100-mile radius of Charleston, ensuring high-quality, locally grown foods for markets and restaurants. Although it's not open to the public, you can find their produce at the Vegetable Bin and Whole Foods, as well as coming out of the kitchens at Husk, Two Boroughs Larder, Martha Lou's, Cork, Fish, Five Loaves, Sugar, and a whole lot of other local businesses.
