Best Hype that Proved to Be Overblown

Trader Joe's

Staff Pick

When this retail food outlet opened in Mt. Pleasant, we raced over there to check it out — and were a little bewildered by it all. Do people really love this place so much that they start petitions to get one in their town? Inside the cut-rate shop, there's lots of pre-packaged, pre-marinated, pre-made things, which leads us to believe that the folks who love this place are not necessarily the best cooks out there. If you need some cheap food and like guys in Hawaiian shirts, well, then this is your kind of store. Enjoy.
