Paddle Path

When donors handed the 87-acre Limehouse Point tract over to the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission, they gave the county an important puzzle piece in what could eventually be an extensive saltwater paddling trail along the East Coast. Like the West Ashley Greenway (Charleston's bike and pedestrian path that's meant to become part of the East Coast Greenway from Florida to Maine), the so-called "blueway" might one day be part of a network of waterways from Florida to Virginia. Limehouse Point, on the Stono River near Ravenel, would be a perfect stop for weary paddlers one day.
