Best Half-Marathon Training Route 

Mt. P to Sullivan's to IOP and Back

Training for a half-marathon is boring (probably more so for a marathon, but we don't know because we haven't tried it yet). At a certain point, you're just putting one foot in front of the other for two hours at a stretch, and unless you've got a good audiobook to listen to and a change of scenery to look at, you're going to lose interest and turn and head back home. So when we were training, we scoped out a few interesting routes around town. Here's our favorite 12-mile route: Starting at the Goodwill in 1220 Ben Sawyer Blvd. in Mt. Pleasant, head southeast on Ben Sawyer and cross the bridge onto Sullivan's Island. Turn left on Jasper Boulevard and cross over to the Isle of Palms, then turn left again to get on the Isle of Palms Connector. Back in Mt. Pleasant, turn left onto Rifle Range Road, which will lead you back to where you started. Piece of cake, and you get to take in some beautiful sights and the salty sea breeze while you're at it.
