When the Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market opened for business last May, it was under a new set of permanent shelters adjoining the grounds of the new Moultrie Middle School. Throughout the summer, foot traffic heading to and from the market on Tuesday nights was thick enough to snarl traffic on Coleman Boulevard. The new metal-roofed pavilions, complete with lights and ceiling fans, are a good sign that the local farmers market is here to stay.
