You may know Mike Allen better by his nickname, the Rock Doc. For almost 12 years, he worked for 98 Rock (98.1 FM) and the Bridge (105.5 FM) as a DJ and program manager, but he decided to leave Charleston this summer for a position at an Adult Album Alternative station in Columbia. Allen’s was a soothing voice on early morning radio, hanging out with Laura Lee on weekdays from 6 to 10 a.m., so we suppose the Midlands must be enjoying “Mike in the Morning” on Palm 92.1. Our loss is their gain.
