We here at the City Paper were diehard fans of the Lowcountry Highrollers before they had even scheduled their first bout. Heck, we even did a cover story on them. Since then, we've not only followed them enthusiastically, we've sponsored their matches from time to time. Which is why we were tickled pink to learn that the girls had been accepted into the Women's Flat Track Derby Association, which is like the NFL for flat track derby enthusiasts. As such, the Highrollers will soon be regularly facing off against teams outside of the Carolinas.
