Since we’re done celebrating America’s birthday, let’s not forget about our amis who helped us out. Fish will be celebrating our revolutionary allies, the French, at their fifth annual Bastille Day celebration. A Fête Nationale will be taking over King Street with can-can girls, a costume contest, a French chanteuse, a traditional French menu, cocktail specials, burlesque dancers, Marie Antoinette, and (ironically) cake eating. Fish encourages you to come dressed as your favorite French playwright, intellectual, or singer for an opportunity to win a dinner for two at Fish. And What If? Productions will be looking for revolutionaries to join them in their storming of the Bastille. They want you to dress as your favorite warrior, peasant, or other iconic character and meet them in Marion Square at 5 p.m. to take over King Street and storm Fish. Make reservations to dine like royalty with the prix fixe menu or stop by the bar to hang out for the cost of your drinks. Sounds like a Charleston-style revolution is a brewin’.
