Band of Horses herded into SXSW, Panic dates

Ben Bridwell and the boys are busy this spring

Semi-local indie rock act Band of Horses joins Widespread Panic for a few dates this spring. It's a weird pairing, but between the jangly jams and rustic grooves of Ben Bridwell's bunch and the textured, Southern-fried rhythms and lengthy explorations of the veteran Athens jam band, there's likely plenty of sonic common ground.

Band of Horses plan to assemble in mid-March at the massive South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival and conference in Austin to perform two official showcases. They hook up with Panic for dates in April. The closest gigs are at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion in Raleigh; a two-nighter on Fri. April 23 and Sat. April 24.

Tickets are on sale at, the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion box office, select Blockbuster stores, or by phone at 800-745-3000.

See and for more.
