Bakesale for Japan

When: Sat., April 2, 5-11 p.m. 2011

Charleston knows how to step up when there are people in need. We mentioned last week how McCrady’s and Circa 1886 were donating money from special menus to help Japan, post-earthquake and tsunami, and the City Paper is hosting Lend a Hand for Japan party at the S.C. Aquarium with the help of many, many local restaurants, including Tristan.

Not only has Tristan been instrumental in helping plan our fundraiser, but they’re also taking part in the Bakesale for Japan, which is part of a larger national effort started by Bay Area Chef Samin Nosrat.

Head over to the restaurant on April 2, and while you’re there, save room for one of pastry chef Amanee Neirouz’s desserts. No, really. One hundred percent of dessert proceeds will be donated to Peace Winds Japan, which is helping to streamline disaster response plans in the country. So forget your diet for one night. Heck, skip dinner and order two or three. Fundraising never tasted so sweet.
