The King Street Michael Mitchell Gallery is hosting an art and designer pop-up shop in support of Art for Charity, an organization that donates proceeds from sold artwork to nonprofit organizations handpicked by Mitchell. This one-day-only shop features the products of locals like Lauren Amos Designs, Seek Vintage, Bangs Shoes, John Stango iPhone Cases, MISIU Beauty, and Taashki Handbags. Not only has each designer donated 100 percent of their vendor fee to Art for Charity, but their products give back to other charities as well. Bangs Shoes come in a variety of colors, each denoting a different organization, with blue dedicated to providing clean drinking water in rural areas and red benefiting natural disaster aid funds. John Stango creates one-of-a-kind iPhone cases featuring images from American pop culture like Marilyn Monroe and Superman, and Lauren Amos Designs offers unique, hand-beaded jewelry. With music and food all day, the gallery will provide local talent with the means to exhibit their artwork and give back to charities like the MUSC Children’s Hospital, Crisis Ministries, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
