If you go a couple of pages deeper into this issue, you’ll learn all about Sinisa Kukec and his new show, From Void to Void, at Redux Contemporary Art Center. What makes this opening different from their past celebrations? The Art After Dark party will follow the traditional free gallery event. “Sinisa Kukec’s work is vibrant and energetic so it made perfect sense to have a celebration that was inspired by his art,” says Janie Askew, Redux’s executive director. “By having an after-party, people can mingle, let loose, meet the artist, and remember the entire experience as something truly unique. It instigates a new way to become engaged with the exhibition. These events can shed the sometimes intimidating and stuffy atmosphere of an art opening.” The party has also given Redux the opportunity to work with other local arts organizations, like performance group Theatre Marvelosa. There will also be music from Wilmington band LIBARIES and local DJ Party Dad, plus the Hello My Name is BBQ food truck.
