The Citadel’s alumni center will be the site of some serious girl power this weekend, as it fills up with more than 60 women authors including Katie Crouch, Mary Alice Monroe, Nathalie Dupree, and Marjory Wentworth. You’ll be able to hear many of the writers read from their work, and all the authors will be available for meet and greets and signings. There will even be a few self-published authors in attendance. These events are not just for readers, either — aspiring women writers are invited to come for networking and maybe even some guidance. “Events like this help women writers by getting the dos and don’ts from other experienced women,” says Leigh Ann Garrett of the Center for Women, which is sponsoring the event. Readings begin at 2 p.m. and end at 5 p.m.
