Local musician Michael Milam and guests present Tom Waits and the No Men Return — a lively tribute to the bourbon-soaked croon and pork-pie bohemian vibes of the acclaimed American songwriter. It’s good timing. Waits recently released a dynamic studio album titled Bad as Me, his first studio album of all-new music in seven years. Preservation Hall Recordings also released 504 limited-edition 78 rpm vinyl records featuring two tracks by Waits and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Expect a sprawling, blackly comical mix of Waits’ loungy material from the 1970s, some clangy middle-era faves, and more than a few contemporary pieces from the cover band. Local indie-rock/pop band Go for Launch plays an opening set at 9:30 p.m.
