I highly doubt that anyone in Charleston got an invitation to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Not only are we all commoners, but we’re all American. There’s no way any of us are cool enough to be there for the “wedding of the century.” But if you just can’t deny your anglophile tendencies, you might want to attend the Royal Wedding Celebration, held at the coincidentally named Middleton Place. You can enjoy champagne, wine, and food on the lavish grounds of Lowcountry royalty and take an optional tour of the House Museum. They’ll also raffle off a replica of Middleton’s sapphire-and-diamond engagement ring, with proceeds benefiting the Middleton Place Foundation. If anything, it’s an excuse to wear a fancy hat (to pay tribute to Kate), and we don’t get enough of those in our lifetimes.
