The world's most renowned jam band is in town and their two night stint spawned pre and post show festivities. Naturally, Birkenstock wearing fanatics will have plenty to do for the few hours Phish isn't showering them in chill tones this weekend.
The North Charleston Coliseum has issued parking advisory because of the large crowds expected for these two nights. Free parking and shuttles will be available from the Charleston Fire Museum and Tanger Outlets, which are convenient to the coliseum. Parking lots next to the Coliseum will open at 2 p.m. on Friday and Staurday. Atendees are encouraged to carpool and arrive early.
After tonight's set of three or four songs each lasting an hour or so each, the Pour House will hosting the official post-show after-party. On the main stage will be Beats Antique, featuring members of Yard Dogs Roadshow with Lynx. If you're capable of keeping track of your ticket stub it's only $13 to keep the heady party goin.' And the Drop-In Deli is inviting all Folly Beachers to come back to island and hang out on Center St. for their unofficial Phish gathering.
By the time most Phishheads wake up Saturday, aLoft Hotel in North Charleston will be throwing a pre-concert party from 1-6 p.m. Music will be provided by local rock band Weigh Station and DJ sets by Robert Rice. Apparently, the $10 tickets were suppose to be purchased in advance, but we haven't heard of any Phish fans planning ahead for anything other than the next Phish show. The Pour House will also host a pre-show party on the back deck with local acoustic Grateful Dead cover band The Reckoning.
On saturday night, the Pour House will be hosting another post-show party with the Heavy Pets on the main stage kickin' off around 11:45 p.m. for $8. Again, you can keep your Festival Express on track and hold on to your Phish ticket stub.
