      <![CDATA[Take your pick: bring the obsolete and overwhelmed I26 - 526 interchange - the most heavily used section of road in the region and critical to Port traffic and Boeing - into the 21st century, or build a 7.9 mile section of designer highway for a statistical few.       <![CDATA[these same trains can be powered with hydrogen engines, produce electricity along the routes with wind & solar, make the project a producer not a consumer, provide jobs from Charleston to Columbia and beyond, make S Carolina a world class community if only we defeat the fossil fuel gas guzzlers and frackers bound to poison our ground water and melt our polar ice caps

      <![CDATA[526 will cost taxpayers over a billion dollars once the first Cadillac roars ten miles over the speed limit and crashes into Folly Road gridlock, extending the hour of bumper to bumper cars from West Ashley.... The costs of litigation, environmental "mitigation" which is impossible to mitigate, depressed property values of existing property holders then the PLANNED INFLATION OF developers properties will mean higher taxes for more police, highway patrols, ambulances for dead & mangled motorists and higher food prices as local food will suffer from James and Johns Islands.
