It's about leap-frogging over the entire concept of recording, touring, and building a fan base that separates flavor of the month artists from long term musical standouts (even the shitty ones, like Bon Jovi).

It's about catering to a lowest-common denominator that doesn't want to be challenged musically, socially, culturally, or in any way at all actually.

So there's really no point in hating on the kids - it's just what they've learned from watching this pablum for the last decade (or longer).

Trying to "fix" it is almost as pointless as trying to fix the political electoral system.
