Joy, your supportive fans are back in town, and were impressed with this article. There is a lot of great local African-American and Caribbean talent in Charleston, both theatrically, musically and in two-and three dimensional art, which we enjoy seeing during the year, and it would have been appropriate to feature more of it at MOJA.

      Joy, Joy,
What an absolutely wonderful article. Having Chaired the MOJA African-American and Carribbean Arts Festival for a number of years, and producing a staged production with Art Forms & Theatre Concepts, Inc. for fifteen years in the festival, it saddened me to see the lack of proper planning put into this festival.

It sounds like a reinvention is called for. If there is not enough money for two arts festivals in one town, why not include an African American arts track in the Spoleto/Piccolo Festival?
